London Swing Orchestra Review

London Swing Orchestra Back after the Christmas break the members of the Arts and Literary Society’s season experienced a wonderful evening last Monday when the London Swing Orchestra, led by director and singer Graham Dalby, presented an interesting and informative history of “The Great Legends of Jazz and Swing”. Graham explained the progress of this expressive style of music from Scott Joplin to Frank Sinatra with such songs as ‘Tiger Rag’, ‘New York’ and inviting the audience to join in with ‘Minnie the Mocha’ which they did with enthusiasm.

The London Swing Orchestra have been playing for over twenty five years around the world, and the eight international musicians, playing authentic arrangements from the various decades of Jazz and Swing, had the audience asking for more. The evening proved to be a real treat for all concerned.
