Society notes

1. The Society?s programme for the 2008-09 season is as
wide-ranging as ever and attempts to be both informative
and entertaining. It combines a broad spectrum of music
with vastly differing subjects for illustrated talks, ever mindful
of the high standards sought by the Society.

2. Having regard to our charitable status, it is our policy to
keep the price of the season ticket as low as possible. Our
success in doing so rests, in no little way, on getting local
businesses, societies and individuals to support, by way of
sponsorship, each of our presentations. The Society
acknowledges with gratitude the assistance and interest
given for the 2008-09 season by those listed in the
programme.

3. The capacity of the theatre determines the size of the
Society?s membership and for the last 6 seasons we have
been oversubscribed. Consequently, we have created a
waiting list to which the names of prospective members are
added. Vacancies arise each year and those at the top of the
list are invited to join us. If you are interested in becoming a
member you should send the form overleaf to our
Membership Secretary. Should you not be successful in
obtaining membership this year and there is a presentation
which particularly attracts you, there is a number of seats
available each Monday due to members? illness and holidays.
Price of admission then is £7.00.
