Trio Vocal Group
The recently formed trio are made up of three outstanding young Welsh singers – Bedwyr Parri, Emyr Wyn Gibson and Steffan Owen and are accompanied by renowned Welsh pianist Annette Bryn Parri. Trio is the brainchild of Annette Bryn Parri (Bedwyr’s mother) who brought these three singers together, having worked with them over many years. Both Bedwyr and Emyr hail from Deiniolen, and Steffan is from Pentre Berw on the Isle of Anglesey. They have been keen Eisteddfod competitors with Emyr winning the ‘Songs from the Musicals’ competition in the National Eisteddfod and Steffan having twice won the ‘Under 19 boys Solo’ competition and the most promising singer scholarship at the National Eisteddfod twice. Bedwyr has performed in concerts in Sydney, Australia and has also performed in concert with Welsh Tenor Timothy Evans in Brisbane. He has made several TV performances including Wedi Tri and Noson Lawen. Emyr performs regularly as a duo with his sister – Sian Wyn Gibson and has released two CD’s with her. He is probably best known in Wales for playing the role of Meical in S4C’s Rownd a Rownd. Steffan begins his studies with the Royal Northern College of Music this October. They first got together in December 2012, and made their first public performance at the Galeri, Caernarfon on 27th June 2013, with an hour long programme – to a resounding standing ovation from the audience. Recent appearances have included a performance at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Denbigh, in the Noson Lawen concert celebrating 50 years of performances by Hogia’r Wyddfa which was televised.
