A Leading Furniture Project Based In Essex
Leading the way in Reuse & Recycling
Tendring Reuse and Employment Enterprise (T.R.E.E.) is a charity who provides volunteer and work placement opportunities for people in the local community. We specialise in those with learning difficulties, the long term unemployed and students who are still in education.
We accept and collect good quality donated electrical items and furniture and reuse or recycle them.
Refurbished quality items are then sold at low cost to the general public, particularly benefiting those who are disadvantaged. In turn this has multiple benefits on the community, including reducing social and financial exclusion and lowering carbon emissions and landfill.
T.R.E.E. was first established in April 2004
TREE was developed from existing projects that were operating in North East Essex, in particular the Tendring Furniture Scheme. T.R.E.E. identified that although there were several organisations offering furniture there was no service in place to accommodate the local community with good quality electrical goods, even though the public were requesting this. T.R.E.E. decided to fill the gap by delivering this service and at the same time minimise the amount of electrical goods that were being sent to landfill.
Since then we have extended our services throughout and beyond local Tendring area, opening the Community Electrical Shop and the Community Furniture Shops in Clacton High Street, spreading into the Chelmsford area with the Community Warehouse Shop (formerly the CROFT furniture project), and we are currently working with Braintree District Council running their Bulky Waste collection service.
