Passionate about travel, conservation, and the environment, Kate is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines, including The Independent, The Times, Travel Africa and Marie Claire. She is co-author of the BBC book ‘Springwatch and Autumnwatch’.


Ultimate Caving saw Kate facing some of her biggest challenges to date as she learned how to explore some of the most inaccessible parts of the British Isles. Filmed in Wales, Yorkshire, The Mendips, Kate’s often terrifying and emotional journey ended in Derbyshire in Britain’s biggest and most challenging cave system. The 1-hour special was shown in August 2007.

Autumnwatch was a huge success, with Bill insisting on dying his hair to match the red squirrels featured in the show. The jury’s still out on which one’s cutest. Kate & Bill spent two happy weeks at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Martin Mere in Lancashire. And guess what – Springwatch looks like returning to our screens again in 2008.
