A vivacious and toe tapping show that had the audience clapping, tapping, and singing along to classic swing tunes from the Cotton Club era 1920’s to 1940’s. October\u00a0 14th – Nick Penny – Call of the Kingfisher<\/p>
An inspirational evening combining natural history education with soothing harp and hand pan music mixed with recorded bird song. A fascination insight into the birds and animals found along the banks of the River Nene. The speaker has spent many years recording bird song, often at the crack of dawn, and taking breath taking pictures of the wildlife. He has then composed musical pieces combining the bird song and the gentle contemplative sound of the harp and hand pan.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sophie and Emily delighted the audience with an eclectic mix of music from classic opera, musical theatre and film music to contemporary pop music given an operatic twist. Their mission is to make opera exciting for a wide range of audiences. Judith Holden entertained members with an irreverant view of ageing and tales of her career in entertainment. Her observations struck a chord with the audience, and had them laughing all evening.
